CEA was invited alongside MIT to the Biennale Architettura 2025, curated by Carlo Ratti.

Professors John Ochsendorf and Caitlin Mueller from MIT and CEA director Catherine De Wolf applied their groups’ research to an installation in the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025. CEA researchers Vanessa Costalonga, Zain Karsan, Clara Blum, and Océane Durand-Maniclas worked on the material upcycling and (digital) fabrication.
CEA co-organized and coordinated the SWIRCULAR Second Annual Meeting

On 1. April, Catherine De Wolf and the CEA members of the Innosuisse Flagship project SWIRCULAR co-organized and coordinated the SWIRCULAR Second Annual Meeting in collaboration with the host institution, ZHAW.
Open PhD position in adapting and strengthening end-of-life steel sections for reuse through wire arc additive manufacturing

The Steel and Composite Structures Group in the Institute of Structural Engineering (IBK) led by Prof. Andreas Taras at ETH Zurich has an open position for a full-time (100%) PhD student in adapting and strengthening end-of-life steel sections for reuse through wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM). The position is available with a flexible start date, as soon as possible starting from August 2025.
Catherine De Wolf's book "The Art of Connecting" is now available

Catherine De Wolf’s latest book, The Art of Connecting: Die Wiederverwendung der Huber Pavilions / Reuse of the Huber Pavilions, is now available at DETAIL Verlag. The Art of Connecting explores circular construction through the reuse of materials from ETH Zurich’s Huber Pavilions. One of the projects described in this book, CircÛbi, was awarded the ArcAward in 2023 and the crQlr Award’s New Academy Prize in 2024.
