Beril Önalan is an architect and researcher with a focus on computational design, digital fabrication and robotics in the field of architecture. Beril received her master’s in architectural design from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2020 and Master of Advanced Studies in Architecture and Digital Fabrication from ETH in 2021 with the master thesis “Skin and Bone: Eggshell 3D Printed Formwork with Mesh Mould Reinforcement”. Previously Beril has practiced as an architect in Turkey and participated in teaching classes for architectural design, computation and fabrication courses at METU and ETH. Since 2022, Beril is a doctoral student in the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture where she is working on circular design and fabrication workflows for reusing concrete waste in construction.
