Catherine De Wolf, assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at ETH Zurich, again focuses on the circular economy. Instead of disposing of valuable materials, they should be returned to a material cycle. Every year, more than 70 million tons of waste are generated in Switzerland alone, 84 percent of it by the construction industry.
