Ana Vargas to speak on participatory public space innovation on 1st Oct 2024 in Kunsthalle Zurich

Venezuelan architect and urbanist Ana Vargas was invited by the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture (CEA) for a guest lecture on participatory playground design and urban transformation with reused materials.

This lecture is part of a series organised by Prof. Dr. Catherine De Wolf for her fall 2024 course and the AI, Art and Architecture (AAA) Experiments, offering students and the public a diverse range of global insights on sustainable design and construction. Ana Vargas, founder of AV Arquitectura y Urbanismo and the non-profit “Trazando Espacios,” will share her expertise in urban development, public space design, and community-driven initiatives. Her work has been internationally acknowledged, winning awards such as the 2014 Best Practices Award by UN-Habitat and Dubai Municipality, and the MIT thesis prize. As an AFIELD Fellow since 2018, Ana regularly speaks at national and international conferences on urbanism and social design.

The lecture is at 15h on the CEA ‘Mehrwerk’ structure in Kunsthalle Zürich, Limmatstrasse 270, 8005 Zürich, and open to the public.
