Additional information
Research area
His research interests lie in applied machine learning for architectural design, spanning analytical to generative models to improve the design workflow of complex built environments. His Design++ postdoc research currently focuses on developing multimodal generative models to support adaptive building reuse and renovation, aligning with the SWIRCULAR project to drive digital transformation for circular constructions in architecture.
Additional information
His background combines architecture, machine learning, and computational design. He studied architecture at Universitas Indonesia and obtained his PhD at EPFL Media and Design Lab (LDM) with Prof. Jeffrey Huang. His thesis, "Machine Understanding of Architectural Space: From Analytical to Generative Applications," investigates methods for learning spatial modalities in architecture. He aims to enable machine learning of rich architectural data, paving the way toward AI-driven design methods for sustainable built environments.
